Art is typically where you make it. For some art is a trained discipline that takes many years to master. It can be done through hard work and dedication. When painting, If you give it your all your works can be recognized as relevant. If you’re super lucky, it can even happen in your lifetime. I am not sure that anyone who puts a brush to canvas can actually tell you how the end product will be considered when the first brush stroke occurs.
There are also a select few people who have the gift of creating beautiful works with minimal effort or training. These people can simply be referred to as “Naturals”. Their ability flows like the waters of a river in all of its natural bliss and seems to continue without falter or even testing the depths of their reserves.
If you ever attend the Rick Wilcox show, you might see him perform an illusion that has him painting on canvass. While of course this is part of the show and meant to entangle you in the wonders of the illusion itself, Rick Wilcox is actually a pretty good painter as well.
When walk into the theater, take a look at the picture of Harry Houdini on the wall to your left. This picture is actually painted by Rick and a friend right onto the drywall. I know that’s amazing isn’t it. In fact, all of the large pictures on the wall in the theater were painted on the walls. They weren’t however painted by Rick though. Here is the story of how he enlisted 2 naturals who had never painted before to help him decorate his theater. This story in and of itself is nothing short than, “Magic”
Remember that we have a show tonight! Enjoy and please share for us!
